“Pioneer Car DEQ 7600 DIN 15-Band Digital Graphic Equalizer”

Prior to my recent purchase of the above I had had installed a SONY Graphic Equalizer, but with time it died and I had to get a replacement.

After much search I came up with Pioneer’s product above and had it installed.

As a product and as far as performance is concerned, it is a magnificent product..as was my Sony.Unfortunately it’s graphic display is well below what I had expected it to be, especially when compared with my Sony.

The bars are of only one pale green or light blue color which in the sunlight it is difficult at best to see.

Whereas the SONY had bright yellows and reds and blues that were easily seen in all types of lights. Unfortunately SONY does not make Graphic Equalizer’s like the model I had, or I certainly would have bought it instead.

It is a bit of a dissapointment to see such a PLAIN display for such a fine unit.

“Good Product”

This EQ does the job of letting you refine your music to your tastes. My only complaint is that you can not see the display very clear in the daytime. There is a feature to turn up the brightness but it does help to much either. Still overall a very good EQ, music wise.

“Cool little preamp”

As advertised, small, well packaged, no surprises really. The unit gets warm to the touch in operation, almost hot really. I’m not sure why since this isn’t an amplifier. A little temp I can see but this is really quite warm. 5 stars except I’m expecting the heat factor to shorten it’s lifespan or cause future problems. Still, can’t beat it for the price. I’d buy another.

“definately a great idea”

This lil thing is great! I installed it just as i got it, even before i drove home from work, i’m only using on to round out my sub frequencies, and it does it very well. The low frequency boost, makes my lil sub a Pioneer TS-W1007D2|D4 sound great. I’m running boost at 35 Hz, love it. Never tried it with Mid and trebble but it works wonders for my bass.

“Clarion Crossover”

This is a fantastic product for the price. The compact size was what really made it a great product. The bass levels on this cross over is quite amazing and with the right setup, you can get a very clean crisp sound.

The is a good EQ. The only draw back is that the mid eq frequency control is set at 1K HZ. Many other 4 band model’s mid range control is set at 2.5K HZ. Otherwise it does fine.

“Great DSP”

One of the best DSP‘s and OEM integration devices out there.

It made a HUGE difference in my setup. I was never satisfied with how my OEM headunit sounded even after changing all stock speakers to high-end ones and adding an amp AND a sub. It was just impossible to tune it right.

It gives flexible ways to configure via Bluetooth too (WM5 or Palm. Windows version of the configuration software is expected soon from RF which will make things even easier and in the hands of everyone).

Totally recommended if you have no way of skipping your OEM headunit.

“You cannot knock this performance level and a trusted brand for this price”

Like the other guys said – it is big, it is heavy. Big and heavy suggests big heatsink, which you want. I haven’t opened it up to see how well built it is inside, but the bottom cover is made of that cheap, thin, plated steel that they make generic PC cases out of. In contrast, my 350W Rockford Fosgate sub amp is all cast aluminum and chrome-plated, thick steel. The Pioneer runs a bit hotter than the Rockford amp and the screw terminals are much cheaper than the enclosed terminals of the Rockford, but you gets what you pay for.

I have this amp mounted vertically on stand-offs on the side of my trunk space, with a 120mm PC fan blowing across it. Only gets warm then, even when you start off with the trunk interior at 100°F.

I’m playing a 4-year old Pioneer head unit via the RCA jacks into this amp which drives a pair of [...] 6×8 Pioneer 3-way front speakers and some [...] 6×8 Infinity 2-way speakers in the rear. Sounds nice and clear – no noticeable distortion at a fairly high volume level (that I can’t stand to listen to for more than a few minutes at a time). With only the head unit (rated at 4x50W, which is supposedly 4x25W RMS) powering the same speakers, I had to use its built-in HPF to take away the bass below 50Hz, else it would be distortion-a-plenty. Now with this amp hooked up, I can feel the front doors vibrating again and no distortion!

Do yourself a favor – ignore the fairy-tale power rating on your head unit and use a separate 4-channel amp for your main speakers. It just sounds so much clearer and you can enjoy the full amount of bass that your speakers can produce. You don’t have to listen at a very loud volume to hear the difference. This is the first time I’ve bothered getting an amp for the main speakers in a car (and I’ve been driving since 1988). I’ve upgraded head units and added small subs, but this has made the most overall difference in sound quality. Next time I change cars, a 4-channel amp is the first thing I’m going to install. Wish I’d figured this out years ago!

“Great power for the money”

Great value.

I had this installed to boost the power to my new Polk Audio front and rear speakers. As far as I can tell it’s working according to spec. No problems here.

FYI.. It is a little larger than average.

“Can’t be beat for the price!”

I installed this amp in my F-150 two weeks ago and wanted to test it out a bit before submitting my review and so far, I couldn’t be happier. My mids and highs are extremely clear now and I can actually hear small details in music that I couldn’t hear before with just my pioneer head unit powering my speakers. I’m using this amp together with a GM-5400t bridged powering a 10″ Kicker CVT and the systems sounds extremely clear even at high volumes with no distortion.

Being a relatively cheap amp, I wasn’t expecting much out of it but I’m truly impressed by it’s output and clarity. I also read that the previous version of this amp the GM-6300f had some overheating issues but I think they have been resolved with this model. I have two amps mounted behind my rear seat with barely any ventilation and neither of them have turned off once. I’m sure that there are better amps out there but in this price range, I can’t imagine one being better.
